TRINIDAD/TOBAGO - The flag of Trinidad and Tobago, adopted in 1962, is made up of a red base representing the vigor of the land and the amity and courage of its people. An off center black diagonal stripe, signifying unity and strength, originates in the top left corner and runs across the flag. The black stripe is bordered on both sides by a thin white stripe.
