ROMANIA Romanias flag, which was adopted in 1989, consists of three equal sized vertical stripes; blue on the left, yellow in the middle, and red on the right. These colors are representative of the colors of the coat of arms of Moldova and Walachia, the two principalities that united to form Romania in 1859.
