PHILIPPINES Consisting of a thick blue stripe symbolizing patriotism and justice atop a thick red stripe representing valor and blood spilt for freedom, the flag of the Philippines is pierced on the left side by a white triangle signifying peace and purity. At each corner of the triangle is a five-pointed yellow star, representing the three main geographical regions, and at its center is a yellow sun, signifying independence.
