COLOMBIA Adopted in 1861, Colombias flag is made up of three horizontal stripes; yellow at the top, blue in the middle, and red at the bottom. However, unlike most flags that implement a similar format, where the stripes are of equal width, the yellow stripe on Colombias flag occupies the entire top half, while the blue and red stripes each make up only one quarter in the flags lower region.
